Manuel Neuer's absence looms as Bayern Munich battle Inter's Champions League deficit
Bayern Munich face a tough challenge in their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Inter Milan on Wednesday, with veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer almost certain to miss out.

The 39-year-old has been sidelined for seven matches with a calf injury, and Bayern's hopes of overturning a 1-2 deficit from the first leg are tempered by his continued absence.
Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sport, expressed doubt about Neuer's return after their 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund. "We always hold out hope, but it's unlikely," Eberl told German outlet AZ.
Jonas Urbig, who has deputised in goal, will again take the gloves for the crucial clash at the San Siro.
Bayern need a strong performance to advance, with Inter's attacking threat posing a stern test.
Recent updates from Bayern's official X account confirm Neuer is progressing in recovery but remains a doubt for the match.
Manager Vincent Kompany has said the team are "fully focused" on the challenge, urging fans to rally behind Urbig and the squad.
"We believe in our players and our spirit," Kompany added in a post-match press conference.
Bayern's resolve will be tested as they aim to keep their European dreams alive without their talismanic goalkeeper.
