Riot confirms 2025 VCT Awards as new contenders emerge across all regions
Riot Games has officially unveiled the 2025 VCT Awards, confirming that this year's ceremony will take place on 7 December.
valorant16The announcement comes just days after Marc 'Caedrel' Lamont hosted the League Awards, marking a busy period of celebrations across Riot's esports ecosystem.
The VCT Awards recognise the standout performers of the 2025 VALORANT season, covering every major region: Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China.
Contestants were judged on their displays across all International League events, with role-specific honours restricted to the agent roles players used most throughout the year.
A diverse voting panel has been assembled, featuring VCT broadcast talent, third-party media, and one pro player, coach, and streamer from each VCT organisation. To maintain competitive integrity, teams are barred from voting for their own players or staff.
Each International League will hand out 10 awards, including Player of the Year, Grand Finals MVP, and a full set of role awards such as Duelist, Sentinel, Controller, Initiator, IGL, and Coach of the Year.
Most Improved Player and Rookie of the Year will also feature everywhere except China, where only eight awards will be presented.
Storylines from 2024 add extra intrigue. G2 Esports, winners of three Americas awards last year, will hope to replicate that success, while Team Heretics - who dominated EMEA with six of seven awards in 2024 - enter the ceremony after a disappointing campaign, leaving the field wide open.
Gen.G, who swept the Pacific awards last season fuelled by two regional titles and a Masters Shanghai triumph, are expected to face stiffer competition in 2025 as honours are predicted to be more evenly shared.
