G2 Esports' BrokenBlade: We gave it all
G2 Esports' run at the 2025 League of Legends World Championships is over, but Sergen "BrokenBlade" Celik can't fault his team for effort.
g2-esports16Top Esports defeated G2 3-1 in their quarterfinal on Thursday. While G2 Esports struggled to execute their usual decisive gameplay, BrokenBlade was proud of his teammates' Worlds run, which included wins over FlyQuest, Bilibili Haming and KOI.
"We gave it all to this Worlds," the top laner told Sheep Esports.
"We really squeezed everything out of us. I'm proud of the boys. It's a bit rough. I thought we had it. Today was quite challenging, to be honest, we played a good team, so obviously, but yeah, I played with no regrets. I think we all played with no regrets. That's the best we could have shown today.
"For me, this was overall a success. Obviously, I'm further than I was ever at Worlds, so I'm going to go and reflect on what happened this year and compare it to the other years and do my best next year again."
After nine years on the pro LoL scene, BrokenBlade is still eager to make sacrifices in an effort to be the best.
"To be honest, my life consists of League of Legends and League of Legends," added the German.
"I don't really have time to do many more things. I sacrifice family time, friends’ time, my own time, time with my girlfriend - everything I sacrificed to be the best player I can be and next year I will do even more."
