Ryan Peniston reaches second round of French Open qualifying
Ryan Peniston beat Altug Celikbilek in straight sets and advanced to the second round of qualifying at the French Open.

Ryan Peniston claimed a first victory at Roland Garros to reach the second round of qualifying.
The British number seven had been on a miserable run, losing his last eight matches, so a 6-4 6-2 victory over Turkey's Altug Celikbilek was much needed.
It was a different story, though, for Sonay Kartal, who looked to be on her way to an impressive victory against 19th seed Viktoria Hruncakova when she led 6-2 5-1.
But Kartal, looking for her first grand-slam victory, could not make it across the line and lost six games in a row before eventually falling to a 2-6 7-5 6-4 defeat.
