Wolves sign Girona defender Ladislav Krejci on loan
Wolves have completed the loan signing of Girona defender Ladislav Krejci, marking a historic moment as the 26-year-old becomes the first Czech player in the club's history.

Standing at 6ft 3in, the ball-playing central defender - who can also operate in midfield - brings both versatility and experience to Molineux, with close to 250 career appearances already behind him. The deal includes clauses that could see him remain at the club permanently until 2030.
Krejci's career began at Zbrojovka Brno, where he made more than 50 appearances and scored his first senior goals after breaking into the side at just 17. His development through the Czech youth teams earned him a move to Sparta Prague in 2019, where he flourished.
During his four years in Prague, he gained valuable European experience, lifted the Czech Cup, and went on to win four major trophies in total.
Named club captain in 2022, he led Sparta to their first league title in nine years and was recognised as Czech League Player of the Season.
In his final campaign, he contributed 11 goals and seven assists from midfield, while helping Sparta reach the Europa League last 16.
Internationally, Krejci made his senior debut in March 2022 against Poland, scoring the fastest goal in his nation's history. He has three goals for the Czech Republic and started all three matches at Euro 2024.
After moving to Girona in 2023, Krejci impressed in Spain with 36 league appearances and seven Champions League outings, including a stunning volley against Villarreal that won La Liga's Goal of the Month in December 2024.
