Lamine Yamal's meteoric rise has extended far beyond the football field.

The Barcelona prodigy, still only 17, has dazzled for two seasons, catching the eye of fans and brands alike.

His off-field life has also sparked headlines, but Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny believes this is all part of the youngster's growth.

"I think everyone has their own journey," Szczesny said in an interview with FootTruckTV. "Right now, I see no red flags with Lamine. His approach to football and life makes him the player he is.

"People say Neymar could've achieved more with a different mindset, but if he'd approached things differently, he wouldn't have been the Neymar who thrilled us all."

Szczesny, who extended his contract with Barcelona for two years earlier this week, urged caution against curbing Yamal's flair. "With personalities like his, you don't rein them in too much. Let them enjoy the game. That joy spreads to teammates and inspires millions worldwide. But his environment will be key, he's just 17.

"He's allowed, maybe even expected, to make youthful mistakes. Hopefully, any missteps won't have serious consequences."

The Polish goalkeeper also praised Yamal's street-football style, predicting it will define his career. "In today's professional game, we don't often see players like him," Szczesny said. "When he gets the ball, it's a show. Players like Lamine make people fall in love with football."

Szczesny also reserved high praise for Barcelona's Pedri, who delivered a standout campaign. "What Pedri has done this season, I've never seen anything like it," Szczesny said.

"Watching him control games, both defensively and in attack, is incredible. He's the most impressive player I've ever seen."
