Team Liquid sweeps GIANTX to claim VCT EMEA Stage 2 title

Team Liquid claimed the VCT EMEA Stage 2 title with a commanding 3-0 victory over GIANTX in the Grand Final, securing the lion’s share of the $250,000 prize pool and the region’s first seed for VALORANT Champions 2025.

After replacing Maikls ‘SerialKiller’ Ždanovs with Nikita ‘trexx’ Cherednichenko, Liquid topped Group Omega with just one loss, qualifying early for Champions thanks to their regional VCT Points. The team then sent both GIANTX and BBL Esports to the lower bracket before meeting GIANTX again in the Grand Final.

In the decisive series, Liquid used a double map ban veto advantage to sweep Bind (13-10), Lotus (13-9), and Sunset (13-10). IGL Ayaz ‘nAts’ Akhmetshin earned Grand Finals MVP honors, recording 60 kills and a 251 ACS.

Team Liquid’s strong Stage 2 performance follows a year of consistent regional results, including second place at VCT EMEA Kickoff and third at Stage 1, though the squad failed to progress past the Group Stage at Masters Bangkok and Masters Toronto.

With Stage 2 complete, Team Liquid now looks to make an impact at VALORANT Champions in Paris (September 9–October 5), opening against VCT Pacific fourth seed DRX.
