MSI 2025: Faker hits 200 international wins as T1 sweep BLG

At the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational, T1's Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok reached a historic milestone by securing his 200th international win in a dominant 3-0 sweep over 2024 Worlds finalists Bilibili Gaming (BLG).

The milestone came in T1's second Bracket Stage series of the day, following Movistar KOI's earlier elimination by CTBC Flying Oyster.

In game one, Faker's flawless Orianna performance anchored a 22-8 rout that ended in under 27 minutes.

BLG showed early promise in game two by targeting T1's top laner Doran, but Faker's scaling Viktor and a game-shifting Atakhan steal turned the tide. Gumayusi's Caitlyn closed it out with an unofficial pentakill as T1 reached match point.

In game three, BLG's Ahri-Vi draft created a more even contest, but T1's superior dragon control and Baron setups paid off. A decisive bait around Baron allowed Doran to flank and wipe BLG, sealing the series after 33 minutes and keeping T1 in the upper bracket.

Prior to the classic match-up, CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) defeated Movistar KOI (MKOI) 3-1 in a lower-bracket elimination match, showcasing superior macro play and discipline across the series.

CFO controlled the first two games with strong drafts, early-game execution, and precise setups from support player Kaiwing. Although MKOI fought back in game three with an aggressive Irelia-Xayah composition to avoid a sweep, their momentum was short-lived. CFO closed out the fourth game with calculated map control and a standout 7/1/2 performance from Doggo's Aphelios, advancing while eliminating the final EMEA team from the tournament.

Following Saturday’s victories, CTBC Flying Oyster will face Anyone’s Legend on June 9, while T1 are set to take on Gen.G Esports on June 10. MSI 2025 action resumes on June 8 with an elimination showdown between FlyQuest and Bilibili Gaming.
