As a result, the South Koreans became the first team to book their place in the final four of the prestigious tournament.

Hanwha Life opened with first blood top as Zeus's Camille ambushed and killed Ruler's Yone with help. The game stayed even until Rift Herald, where Gen.G killed Camille and Nocturne to take control.

HLE secured Herald, but Gen.G dove bot, killed Zeka's Aurora, and took the tier-two turret. At Atakhan, they traded Chovy's Hwei for a full wipe. Gold lead: 5k by 21 minutes.

Gen.G stayed composed, denied objectives, claimed Dragon Soul at 23 minutes, and destroyed mid tier-two.

At Baron, they caught HLE, secured the buff, and-empowered-marched to shatter the nexus, winning 3–1 and advancing to the semifinals for the second consecutive year.

HLE's loss was particularly hard to swallow for Han 'Peanut' Wang-ho, as he retires from League of Legends esports.

The next quarterfinal takes place on Wednesday, with KT Rolster facing CTBC Flying Oyster.
