The Marvel Rivals Ignite Mid Season Finals is heating up at its main stage, with the second day of the LAN event delivering upsets, reverse sweeps, and high-stakes drama in the double elimination format.
marvel-rivals16The tournament, held to crown Marvel Rivals' inaugural global champion, saw Play-In stage teams outperform some of the top regional champions in a surprising turn of events.
In one of the day's standout matches, ENVY stunned EMEA Stage 1 champions Citadel Gaming (formerly Brr Brr Patapim) with a thrilling reverse sweep.
Citadel took the early lead with wins on Hell's Heaven and Yggdrasill Path, but ENVY clawed back to win the next three on Central Park, Arakko, and Krakoa. ENVY now advances to the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals.
Joining them are Rad EU, who dismantled Americas favourites and Stage 1 champions Sentinels in straight sets - 2-1, 2-0 (Midtown), and 2-1 (Central Park).
Sentinels now drop to the Lower Bracket, where they will face Citadel Gaming in a high-stakes Round One clash.
Meanwhile, 100 Thieves overcame a strong start from Chinese champions OUG to win their series 3-1 and book a spot in the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals against Oceania's Ground Zero Gaming. GZG defeated Asia's REJECT 3-1 in a hard-fought contest.
