AS Roma close to permanently signing Diego Llorente from Leeds United
Italian side AS Roma are closing in on an agreement to sign defender Diego Llorente from Leeds United on a permanent deal this summer following his loan spell last season.

AS Roma are close to signing Leeds United defender Diego Llorente on a permanent deal. </p>
<p>
The Spain centre-back spent the second half of the season on loan to Serie A side Roma, featuring in 12 matches in all competitions including a 15-minute cameo as an extra-time substitute in the Europa League final loss against Sevilla. </p>
<p>
Roma had initially refused to make his move permanent for €18 million (£15.4 million) at the end of the 2022/23 season but are now renegotiating with Leeds for a transfer of the 29-year-old. </p>
<p>
According to reports by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Giallorossi have already agreed personal terms with Llorente and are optimistic of sealing the deal with his club. </p>
<p>
This will become the second deal that Roma have concluded with an English team this summer, following their £ 9.5 million sale of 24-year-old Netherlands striker Justin Kluivert to Bournemouth. </p>
<p>
Llorente made 59 appearances for The Whites since joining the club from La Liga side Real Sociedad, scoring four goals for the Premier League side. </p>
<p>
Leeds will also soon be busy evaluating bids for United States midfielder Tyler Adams who is the subject of interest from Brighton Hove and Albion who are considering a £25 million bid. </p>
<p>
Premier League sides Aston Villa, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton are all reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old's situation. </p>
