Report: Nottingham Forest improve offer for Mallorca's Pablo Maffeo

Nottingham Forest have intensified their efforts to sign Pablo Maffeo from Mallorca, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to reinforce his squad ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

The 28-year-old right-back has spent the last three seasons at Mallorca, amassing 128 appearances across all competitions and contributing four goals and 13 assists.

Despite his attacking contributions and defensive consistency, Mallorca are open to selling, having reduced their asking price to 8 million euros.

Forest's latest proposal could rise to 6.5 million euros with performance-based add-ons, but the Spanish side are reportedly unwilling to drop their valuation any further.

Maffeo, formerly on the books of Manchester City between 2013 and 2018, made three cup appearances for the English giants before returning to Spanish football. Since the second half of the 2016-17 season, he has played regularly in La Liga, missing just one campaign.

Forest's interest in Maffeo follows the arrivals of Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus from Botafogo, with the former strengthening the defence and the latter bolstering the attack.

These moves signal Forest's intent to stay competitive despite the likely departure of Morgan Gibbs-White, who could follow Anthony Elanga out of the City Ground this summer.
