Report: Everton show interest in RC Lens star Neil El Aynaoui
RC Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui has emerged as a key target for multiple clubs this summer, with Everton, Roma, and Crystal Palace all expressing interest in the 24-year-old.

El Aynaoui, who is under contract with Lens until 2027, made 24 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring eight goals. His recent appearance in a friendly against Standard Liège on 12 June suggests he remains part of the French club’s immediate plans.
However, Lens are braced for offers, albeit only from clubs willing to meet their 30-million-euro valuation. With no financial pressure to sell, Lens retain a strong negotiating position.
Roma’s pursuit of El Aynaoui is the most advanced. The Serie A side, who share ownership with Everton through the Friedkin Group, have had long-standing interest and reportedly secured a verbal agreement with the player on a contract running until 2030.
Nonetheless, Roma are also targeting Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios and are unlikely to sign both players.
Everton, managed separately despite the shared ownership, have recently entered the race and requested information on El Aynaoui, as they look to bolster their midfield.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have also made enquiries, adding further competition for the Moroccan-born playmaker.
While the Friedkin Group owns both Everton and Roma, their transfer strategies remain distinct due to their separate recruitment teams.
