Premier League : Leeds are again after Cody Gakpo for Jan transfer window
Leeds United have restored their interest in Cody Gakpo for the January transfer window. They had made a last-ditch effort on the transfer deadline day to sign PSV attacker, but the Whites director of football returned with bad news

Louis van Gaal is reported to have convinced Gakpo to stay back and so Leeds signed Italy striker Willy Gnonto from FC Zurich. Although they have shown interest in approaching him in the next window, their offer seems questionable.
Although the actual amount proposed by Leeds is unknown, they have reportedly placed a low bid. Gakpo is off on a good start to the season with PSV.
The reigning Eredivisie Player of the Year has already netted seven goals and six assists from nine games so far. Gakpo could now have a chance to compete in the World Cup.
Gakpo's steady growth might eventually deem him worthy of a club better than Leeds United. Raphinha's dream move to Barcelona from Leeds is a similar instance.
As far as Gakpo is concerned, a good run with the Netherlands will further increase his value. If maintains his current goalscoring pace, he will be pursued by top-tier clubs including Manchester United looking to whisk him away in the winter transfer window.
Cody Gakpo netted 21 times in the 2021-22 season and provided 15 assists. In time, he could surpass his previous performance.
