Premier League: Brighton thrashes Brendan Rodgers' struggling side Leicester

    Brighton put Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers and his team in misery by locking in a 5-2 win that lands the Foxes at the bottom of the Premier League

    The Foxes have not scored a single point in their last five Premier League games, marking their worst losing streak since February 2017, the then manager Claudio Ranieri was sacked. 

    Leicester fans raised banners that said "Rodgers out" at the Amex. The Foxes took 52 seconds to the net, thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho's opening effort. 

    However, their defense collapsed as Luke Thomas scored an own goal and Moses Caicedo's goal five minutes later earned Brighton the lead. Patson Daka delivered the fourth goal as Leicester fought back. 

    Unfortunately, Brighton was dominant in the second half. Alexis Mac Allister tried to put the team back in the lead; a VAR reading after a four-minute delay cancelled the strike as Enock Mwepu was offside.

    Graham Potter's squad was not bothered as Leandro Trossard scored in the 64th minute, followed by Mac Allister scoring a penalty after a rough exchange with Wilfred Ndidi.

    The Argentine struck another stunning free-kick and clinched his second and the team's fifth goal in the match. Brighton has retained their spot in the Champions League after securing 13 points from their first six games.
