Liverpool to pursue Juventus forward should Mohamed Salah swap Anfield for Saudi Arabia - report
With Saudi Arabia knocking on the door of Mohamed Salah, Liverpool are beginning to look at his possible replacement.

Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Juventus forward Federico Chiesa in case Mohamed Salah departs the club.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool would consider making a move for the Italy international should Salah opt to join the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo over in Saudi Arabia.

The Reds, however, are not the only Premier League club who have their sights set on the Juventus ace.

Newcastle United are also interested in the 25-year-old, though the Magpies already boast a stacked forward line and may need to sell before buying.

Aston Villa contacted Chiesa's agent, Fali Ramadani, but the forward was reportedly against a move to Birmingham.

Liverpool would appear to be in pole position when it comes to signing the Italy star, though the Reds would need to splash a considerable amount of cash.

Juventus want at least £42million for the forward which seems steep for someone who scored just two goals and made five assists in 21 league appearances for the Old Lady last season.

Keeping hold of Salah may prove the better option for Jurgen Klopp. The Egyptian forward bagged 30 goals in 51 games last season - just one less than in his previous two campaigns.

As well as the 31-year-old, Klopp also has the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo ready to make their mark up front.

Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on August 13.
