LaLiga wrap: Kylian Mbappe stars in 10-man Real Madrid win
Real Madrid were able to prevail 2-1 over Real Sociedad despite being a player down, thanks largely to a stellar performance by Kylian Mbappe.

The French superstar scored the opening goal of the match in the 12th minute, taking advantage of a defensive error to grab his fourth goal of the season.
However, things got tough for Los Blancos when Dean Huijsen was shown a red card and they were reduced to 10 men in the 32nd minute.
Despite the disadvantage, they doubled their lead just before half-time with Mbappe providing a lovely assist for Arda Guler to score.
After the break, Sociedad began to fight back and got a goal from the penalty spot through Mikel Oyarzabal in the 56th minute.
Real shifted to a more defensive shape and did well to keep the hosts at bay for the remainder of the match as they ground out a win to extend their perfect start to the 2025/26 LaLiga campaign.
Elsewhere, Getafe cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win over Real Oviedo thanks to goals from Mario Martín (45'+4) and Borja Mayoral (45'+9), while Alex Berenguer's 57th-minute own goal was enough to condemn Athletic Club to a 1-0 defeat to Alaves.
Sevilla and Elche played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw after Isaac Romero opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Elche fought back through strikes by Andre Silva (54') and Rafa Mir (70') before Pepue Fernandez rescued a point for Sevilla with a goal in the 85th minute.
Atletico Madrid looked very comfortable in their 2-0 dismantling of Villareal thanks to goals by Pablo Barrios in the ninth minute and Bicolas Gonzalez in the 52nd minute.
