Erik ten Hag: Manchester United are working hard to land a striker
Erik ten Hag admits Manchester United are in need of a striker.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been confronted with new inquiries regarding the club's aspirations of securing a striker this transfer window.

The Red Devils are actively seeking to acquire a new frontman to alleviate the goal-scoring burden on Marcus Rashford, who impressively notched a career-best of 30 goals across all competitions last season.

Bruno Fernandes, recently appointed as the club captain, was the only other player to reach double digits in terms of goals.

It is understood that United have reached a personal agreement with Denmark's striker, Rasmus Hojlund, and are presently engaged in negotiations with Atalanta concerning the transfer fee.

Atalanta, a team from Serie A, are demanding £60m, but United are hesitant to exceed a sum significantly higher than £50m.

Addressing the media during a press conference ahead of the pre-season friendly against Arsenal in the United States on Saturday, Ten Hag shared insights into United's pursuit of a striker.

"Across Man United, a lot of people, we do everything that's in our power to get the right man in," Ten Hag said.

"Transfer market, you never know, but we know our targets and we do everything we can. We put every effort in to get this done because it's an area where we need improvement."
