Cadiz defeats Barcelona 1-0: Lucas Perez strikes the winning goal
Cadiz won against Barcelona 1-0 in a La Liga match at Camp Nou on April 19, 2022. Barcelona maintains its second spot in La Liga rankings, but its eight-game winning streak has come to an end.

Cadiz pulled off an unexpected win to get out of the relegation zone.
Barcelona was not at their best and conceded an early goal in the second half of the match and failed to break past Cadiz's defense to score an equalizer. Barcelona came into the first half playing with good pace and rhythm. Ousmane Dembélé was able to find gaps in the defense of Cadiz but failed to convert any of the opportunities.
Lucas Perez was the sole goal scorer of the match, with one goal scored in the 48th minute. His goal gave the struggling Cadiz the victory. Alex Fernández sent a brilliant cross towards the penalty box, but Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen was able to intercept. The ball found its way back to Spanish forward Rubén Sobrino, who took a shot that landed on the feet of Lucas Perez after being flapped away by Ter Stegen. Lucas Perez took the close-ranged shot into the empty net, giving Cadiz a one-goal lead.
Barcelona tried hard to move forward in search of an equalizer. However, they were not able to make it past the defense as Cadiz managed to hold onto their narrow lead. They kept on pushing, but Cadez goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma continued to make brilliant saves again and again until the final whistle.
Barcelona is now trailing 15 points behind the chart leader Real Madrid and has most likely lost their chance at winning the La Liga title.
Barcelona will next lock horns with Real Sociedad at Reale Arena on April 22.
