Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Barcelona have landed an 'incredible player' with the acquisition of German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from City.

Manchester City manager believes Barcelona have landed an excellent signing with the acquisition of his former player, German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. </p>

Gundogan was at the heartbeat of City's midfield as they landed their maiden Champions League trophy and treble before deciding to leave the Citizens after seven years and join Barca. </p>

And Guardiola admits he is 'sad' to see Gundogan leave and that Barca now have an 'incredible player'. </p>
<p>
"We tried to convince him to stay and we couldn't, so we wish him the best," said Guardiola. "They have been seven incredible years together. I have no words to express my gratitude to him and I wish him all the best in the challenges of his life." </p>

"Barça are getting an incredible signing, an incredible player. But this is life and everyone has family obligations," he added. </p>
