Yangon Galacticos crowned PMWC 2025 champions in stunning underdog triumph
In what is being hailed as the biggest underdog story of the year, Myanmar's Yangon Galacticos have been crowned champions of the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025.

Starting their campaign in the open qualifiers in Myanmar, the Burmese squad climbed their way through the Challengers League (SEA) and narrowly survived the Survival Stage - clinching the final Grand Finals spot by just a single point in 8th place. Entering the PMWC Grand Finals as the lowest seed, few gave them a chance.
Yet, Yangon Galacticos defied all odds. Despite a slow start in Match 1 - finishing 12th with only one kill - they roared back with a dominant WWCD (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) and 12 eliminations in Match 2.
Their resilience and consistency carried them through the finals, eventually notching a total of four WWCDs during the tournament.
The Galacticos finished with 157 points, a clear 15-point margin ahead of Chinese powerhouse and tournament favourites, Weibo Gaming, who settled for second place.
Weibo, one of the most consistent teams on the global stage, were widely tipped to lift the trophy.
However, the unpredictability of PUBG Mobile esports shone through as the unheralded Burmese team captured hearts and headlines alike.
