VKG make history with Apex Legends triumph at Esports World Cup
Chinese team VKG (VK Gaming) captured the Apex Legends title at the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking a historic moment for Chinese esports.

VKG secured 96 points to clinch the championship, finishing nine points ahead of the runner-up.
Their dominant run not only earned them the 600,000-dollar first-place prize but also delivered China's first-ever world title in Apex Legends.
This victory also marked the first championship won by a Chinese team at EWC 2025, a landmark event in the global esports calendar.
The tournament, running from 8 July to 24 August, boasts a staggering total prize pool of $70 million - the largest in esports history.
VKG's success was spearheaded by 18-year-old Chen Yin-hong, known in-game as 'QQ', from the Taiwan region of China. Chen was named MVP of the series for his consistent and outstanding performance throughout the competition, anchoring VKG's strategy and execution with composure beyond his years.
Their win in Riyadh solidifies VKG's status as a global powerhouse in Apex Legends and further establishes China's growing prominence on the international esports stage.
