VCT: GIANTX parts ways with runneR and tomaszy
GIANTX has announced significant roster changes during VCT EMEA Stage 1 in an effort to turn around a disappointing start to the 2025 season.

The organisation has removed two players from its starting lineup - Initiator Emil 'runneR' Trajkovski and Duelist Tomas 'tomaszy' Machado - following a string of underwhelming performances.
To date, GIANTX has only secured a single series victory across both the EMEA Kickoff and Stage 1, prompting the need for a bold shake-up.
"We see the hard work and the performances they put out in the Challengers League and feel it could be what we need to reignite our performance and competitive momentum," GIANTX shared on X.
"Our results this year have not been a reflection of the standards we want to hold ourselves at in GIANTX. After attempts to rework our current roster, we are now in a position where we feel the need to make more drastic changes."
In their place, the team has brought in two fresh faces from UCAM Esports - Karel 'Flickless' Maeckelbergh and Hanceriuc 'ara' Eduard-George.
UCAM Esports is a Challenger-level team and a member of the Affiliate Partnership Programme, offering a direct pipeline of promising talent to VCT organisations.
Flickless and ara are set to make their VCT debuts today, April 17th, in a high-stakes clash against Fnatic.
The move marks a significant opportunity for the duo, as GIANTX looks to revitalise its strategy and improve its standings for the remainder of the stage.
