League of Legends Patch 25.13 sets stage for MSI 2025 showdown

With the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) kicking off on 27 June, Riot Games has released Patch 25.13 - an update aimed at creating a balanced and dynamic competitive environment.

The patch arrives just in time for the Play-In stage, where GAM Esports, Bilibili Gaming, G2 Esports, and FURIA are set to open the tournament. Top seeds like Gen.G await their challengers in the Bracket Stage.

Designed to fine-tune gameplay ahead of MSI, Patch 25.13 introduces targeted changes that stabilise power spikes and trim overperforming picks, while encouraging flexible and niche drafting under the Fearless Draft rules.

The top lane remains central to the meta, with bruisers holding firm. Irelia receives a boost through increased early-level attack speed on her passive, making her trades more potent and snowballs deadlier.

In the mid lane, slower early games are expected, but roaming champions are now more viable. Twisted Fate and Ryze have both been nerfed for balance, though players like Caps and Faker can still make them work.

Meanwhile, LeBlanc and Sylas are poised for a resurgence thanks to their early aggression and tempo control.

The jungle role has seen a revival of AP threats. Kindred's ultimate cooldown has been reduced, aiding teamfight influence. Nidalee's spear damage has been buffed once again, raising her lethality.

Fiddlesticks also returns as a sleeper pick, benefiting from improved damage and clear speed.

On the tankier side, Rammus receives increased health and defences, allowing him to flex between jungle and top. Conversely, Vi is nerfed again, reducing her overall impact.
