England chase down hefty target to secure T20 series victory over West Indies with game to spare
England sealed a T20 international series win over the West Indies after successfully chasing down a target of 197 to win the second match in Bristol on Sunday.

Jos Buttler top-scored with 47, while captain Harry Brook added 34 as England reached 112-2 in the 13th over. After both were dismissed in quick succession, Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton helped guide the team home. Bethell struck 26 off just 10 deliveries, including three sixes, and Banton remained unbeaten on 30 as England completed a four-wicket win with nine balls to spare.
The result gives England a 2-0 lead in the three-match series, with the final game set to be played in Southampton on Tuesday. Brook has now won all five matches since being appointed as England's full-time white-ball captain.
"We chased the score beautifully," Brook said post-match. "It gives us great confidence having players like Bethell, Banton and Jacks in the middle order."
The West Indies posted 196-6 after being put in to bat, recovering from 121-4 after 16 overs to add 75 runs in the final four. Captain Shai Hope top-scored with 49, while Rovman Powell hit 34 off 15 balls and Jason Holder contributed 29 from nine deliveries.
England struck early through Luke Wood, who dismissed Evin Lewis with the first ball of the match. Johnson Charles (47) and Hope then added 90 for the second wicket. Despite a costly penultimate over from Adil Rashid - who conceded 31 runs and finished with figures of 1-59-England's middle-overs control with the ball proved decisive.
"We had a couple of good overs through the middle where the game didn't get away from us," Brook said. "That helped offset the big over at the end."
West Indies captain Hope acknowledged that his side may have fallen short with the bat. "I thought we were a few runs short," he said. "We'll try to bounce back and finish the tour strong."
